An Awesome Life: Heath Sutherland
"Maryanne and I have had an awesome life together. We've always been very optimistic and happy.
"Even when the cancer diagnosis came through two and a half years ago, we took a positive approach.
"The most important thing for me has always been to take every day as it comes, appreciate the small stuff and enjoy every moment. One of my favourite sayings is 'Hakuna Matata' (no worries)."
Heath and his wife are enjoying the support of Cranford who provide a home away from home.
Their two young daughters have even been able to enjoy "sleepovers" there with Dad.
Cranford Hospice General Manager Helen Blaxland adds: "Heath's attitude, like that of many of our patients, provides inspiration to our staff. We are always humbled by our patients and Heath and his family are a great example of our motto Living Every Moment."
