Heartfelt Thanks

Cranford Hospice extends heartfelt thanks to those who choose to support our future services to patients and families through a bequest.

Why your bequest will make a difference to Cranford Hospice:

With an aging population, and more patients needing end of life care through a hospice, Cranford Hospice will always require community support to keep its services at no cost to patients and their families.

A bequest to Cranford Hospice will not impact on your current financial situation, but it will allow you to provide for those who depend on you today, while also supporting Cranford Hospice in the future.

How do I make a Will?

If you have not yet make a WIll, the good news is that this can often be a simple, inexpensive process. The benefits are enormous.

It is important to seek the right advice and working for your Will because it is a legal document. Your lawyer, the Public Trust, the Guardian Trust or another trustee company will be able to guide you through this.

What if I already have a Will?

If you already have a Will, advisors recommend your review it every five years or so, in case your circumstances or intentions change. This is an ideal time to add an amendment or addition to the Will (a codicil) that will benefit Cranford Hospice.

Your Will and its benefits

Your Will is a unique, clear record of your wishes. It is a living document that continues to care for others well beyond your lifetime.

We are grateful

Your bequest will remain confidential and will directly support Cranford Hospice in the future. Advising us of your bequest means we can thank you in person, and invite you to visit Cranford Hospice.

Our funding

  • We are an independent registered charity. The Hawke's Bay District Health Board funds around 60 per cent of our running costs with the remaining deficit ($2.8 million/year or $7,700 each day) coming mainly from the generosity of the  community.
  • Every year we care for around 750 patients and their families, from Wairoa and Mahia in the north to Takapau in the south.
  • Our services include: inpatient and out patient care, spiritual and cultural support, grief and bereavement support, music therapy, carer support
