Hospice Care care

Most palliative care takes place in a patient's home or place of living.

At any one time in Hawke's Bay, Cranford Hospice clinical support staff provide palliative care to approximately 130-160 patients in their own homes, hospital or in a residential care facility.

The aim is to enable the patient to remain independent in their own home and to maintain a normal life in a familiar and comfortable setting for as long as possible.

Our Community Nursing Team is a team of specialist registered nurses who visit patients to monitor and support them and their family/whanau.

The Community Nursing Team also have close links with other health providers involved in their care such as GPs and district nurses.

Cranford Hospice also has a respite bed available within the inpatient unit.
